Adobe Acrobat is a program that allows you to create PDF files, but until now, you’ve only been able to use it on computers and a few select mobile units. However, that all changed this week when Adobe released its new CreatePDF app, which works with iPad, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch devices.
For $9.99, you get all of Acrobat’s handy services in one useful app, including high quality PDF file creation and access to Adobe’s online services, which allows you to upload files you want to convert to PDF and have them emailed back to you.
Adobe CreatePDF allows you to create PDF files out of a number of text formats, including RTF, Text and WordPerfect, as well as a variety of image types, including JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF and TIFF. In addition, you can also copy over files from MS World (doc and docx), Excel (both xlsx and xls) and PowerPoint (ppt and pptx), as well as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. This app is a must if you need to transfer your work over on the go, but don’t want to deal with complicated conversion tools.
What’s more, from what we’ve seen in CreatePDF, it comes with a helpful, intuitive interface, so you can select which files to open and convert. It also picks up files saved in cloud storage, and gives you the option to email them as attachments, all with one-touch technology.
The automatic save system keeps track of bookmarks and various notes automatically as well, so if you need to shut down for any reason, they’ll still be there when you restart your device.
Whether you’re an up-and-coming designer or a full-on business type, Adobe CreatePDF is the program for you. It’s available in the App Store now for $9.99.
