There are a lot of things you can do with the iPad 2 – but you probably never expected the chance to turn it into an interactive DJ mixing table, did you? Well, thanks to Algoriddim, you can do just that with the Djay iPad app.
Available for $9.99, the app gives you access to a number of interactive tools to help create essential dance mixes, including key lock/time-stretching, loop/cue snapping and high precision audio analysis. It all sounds like a complicated process, but thanks to a user-friendly interface (and a variety of samples and loops from top albums), song creation is a painless process.
What’s more, Algoriddim has teamed up with Griffin Technology to produce a splitter cable that plugs into your iPad and works specifically with Djay. Called the DJ Cable, it features a Split Output function, letting you hear both the raw speaker mix coming from your song and what song you’re cueing next. This is vital to up-and-coming deejays everywhere, and perfect for “gigs” such as parties and weddings. Just think – no more having to fiddle around with vinyl albums.
The DJ Cable is $19.99, and available for purchase at Griffin’s website. As for the Djay app, you can find it here. Rock on, you crazy musicians.
