The first view of the much-anticipated iPad 2 is only hours away, but at least one Apple employee is saying don’t believe the hype.
“For the iPad 2 don’t get your hopes up too high. That’s all I’m going to say,” the unidentified Apple staffer told CultofMac. “They’ve had a number of problems along the way, and the third-generation iPad is the one to make a song and a dance about.”
The next-generation iPad is expected to beef up in areas many long suspected it lagged, most notably adding at least one camera — and probably two — to provide the video chat functionality consumers seem to be demanding these days. The tablet is also rumored to be lighter, faster, louder and even stronger.
However, if previous Apple next-generation gadgets are any indicator, expect to see a quantum leap with the third device.
iPadNewsDaily will have full coverage as the event unfolds at 10 a.m. PST (1 p.m. EST) today.
