iPad Lock Protects Device from Thieves

You sprung extra to get the 3G iPad, so nobody is going to hold it against you for taking it everywhere. Just be careful with that thing. There are a lot of bad people out there who wouldn’t think twice about snatching a loose iPad off a table at Starbucks .

Now, there is a lock for that.

MacLocks, a company that provides locks for all things Mac , has released the first iPad Lock - a hard, clear plastic case designed with a built-in security slot that allows users to lock the devices down.

Sounds clunky but it’s actually very sleek and relatively light. iPad owners can lock the security cable to the case, and loop the cable’s other end around a fixed object (like the table at Starbucks).

According to the company, once the case and cable are locked together, thieves can’t detach the case without damaging the iPad.

The iPad Security Case is $39.95 and the the iPad Lock and Security Case bundle is $64.95.

However, we aren’t sure what good the case alone would do. Better to buy the actual lock for it.
