AT&T is convinced that business people have just as much need for an iPad as the general public, and in an announcement the company revealed it is specifically targeting businesses as potential iPad customers.
"iPad is a great fit for our enterprise customers across a wide range of industries who are looking for ways to increase business productivity and offer greater flexibility ," said Michael Antieri, president of AT&T Business Solutions, in a company statement. "This new offer further strengthens AT&T’s commitment to provide businesses with the tools they need to accelerate mobility-led productivity."
AT&T's business iPad initiative involves selling all three models of the iPad that can connect via AT&T's 3G network . It appears AT&T is mostly targeting the larger corporations rather than small business owners: the company statement says that the iPad will be "available for corporate purchase with a corporate service subscription from AT&T." The company will start marketing directly to businesses on October 28.
