An iPad in a stand usually doesn't need a battery pack, and a stand usually isn't too mobile, meaning that iPad battery packs and stands are generally separate items. That hasn't stopped Kensington from creating PowerBack, a battery case with a dock and a kickstand.
The iPad battery is already surprisingly long-lived, but in the even that you need a larger window of usability, the Kensington PowerBack 4400mAh battery adds another five hours of battery life. A microUSB port allows the iPad to connect to a computer without removing the PowerBack.
Topping it all off is a kickstand that can prop up the iPad in portrait or landscape orientation.
While battery packs add a little heft to devices, the PowerBack is still remarkably thin, keeping the whole thing relatively streamlined.
Perhaps the only downside to the PowerBack is the price. At $130, it's not even close to most other impulse-buy accessories.
